If you're anything like me, you probably wash your hands about a billion times per day. As mamma's I think it's just something we do. All the time. Everyday. Without even thinking about it.
Some time after I had my first baby I got into the habit of washing my hands as soon as I arrived home from an outing. It's such a habit now that I walk in, put my bag down and go straight to the kitchen sink to wash my hands. I just can't think about preparing food or hugging babies when my hands have pushed around shopping trolley's, opened car doors, wiped snotty noses and opened toilet doors while we've been out and about. Ewwwyuck!
I'm not really a clean freak (one look at my house will attest to that!) but I do get a bit finnicky about germs. I know we need germs and it's all about balance and blah blah blah, but still. I'm very grateful for soap and won't be giving up my daily shower any time soon.
So of course I was tickled pink when I received a pump pack of the New Dettol Touch of Foam to review. Actually, funny story. I was out shopping and spotted a bottle of this soap on special, so I bought some. Only to then arrive home to find out I was getting a pack in the mail to review!
We've never used a foam hand wash before so I was keen to give this a whirl. The kids thought it was great of course, although for some reason Samuel thought that it goes on your face? Strange child.
The handwash comes in three fragrances, Jasmine and Almond Dream, Rose & Cherry in Bloom and Wild Berry Bliss. We've got the Rose & Cherry in Bloom at our house and it smells yum. And there's no need to buy a new bottle each time you run out, there's a 500ml refill bottle available.
I realise now that there is pump soap, and then there is pump soap. This stuff means business. It comes out fluffy and soft and is ready to clean. The foam spreads quickly on your hands and is lovely and rich, it really feels like a treat having to wash garden dirt off your nails.
It's also reassuring to know when your half-way through cooking dinner and need to stop and do a toilet run with Mr 3, that when you get back whatever germs that are lurking on your hands are gone. Dettol Touch of Foam hand wash kills 99.9% of germs so I can get back to cooking without youdon'twanttoknow on my hands.
Kids.
Who'd have em?
